Senior Infrastructure DevOps Engineer
Build unique innovations together with our customers, starting from the idea through the MVP to long-term operating systems.
We're Project Lary, a team of product, tech, and design specialists based in Munich and Berlin. We specialize in creating digital products that deliver exceptional user experiences for forward-thinking companies. Our expertise spans from messaging to e-commerce, and from logistics to construction. Our cloud-based web and mobile applications set the standard for digital innovation.
In this position you will lead our newly established Lary OpsHub team. The Lary OpsHub team empowers our product teams with a rock-solid, secure production infrastructure so they can focus 100% on user-oriented features.
We defined the guiding principles for the OpsHub as followed
- Seamless Operations: We empower our product teams with a rock-solid, secure production infrastructure so they can focus 100% on user-oriented features.
- Embrace Change: We actively seek and implement system improvements.
- Proactive Solutions: We anticipate and solve problems before they occur.
- Risk Mastery: We assess and manage risks, not avoid them.
- Team Collaboration: We understand the OpsHub as a platform for product teams to collaborate on cross-cutting concerns.
- Technology Adoption: We are early adopters for cutting-edge DevOps and AI tools.
- Pursuit of Excellence: "It just works" is not enough, we seek to fully and thoroughly understand and master the technologies we are using.
Tasks:
- Strategic Infrastructure Planning: Develop and execute a strategic plan for our AWS infrastructure that supports our digital products.
- Hands-on Library Development and Maintenance: Engage in the development and maintenance of shared, cross-project libraries. This includes, but is not limited to, a CDK library for the infrastructure of web and mobile applications, services for the integration of external APIs, and the development of CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaboration with Technical Leadership: Work closely with the technical leads across our product teams to ensure alignment on infrastructure, operations, and potentially broader aspects such as testing strategies and technical debt management.
- Monitoring and Incident Response: Take the lead in defining and refining our approach to monitoring production systems and subsequent incident response plans. Monitoring tools include AWS Cloudwatch, Datadog and Sentry.
- Streamlining Operational and Maintenance Processes: Take charge of streamlining processes surrounding operation and maintenance.
- Hands-on development support for product teams: Occasionally you are also joining the product teams in smaller tasks like fixing some infrastructure-related bugs or supporting refactoring efforts.
- Cyber Security Contributions: Play a pivotal role in our Cyber Security Strategy by managing security risks and implementing best practices. Utilize tools such as AWS SecurityHub, AWS GuardDuty, AWS CloudWatch, and Datadog to safeguard our systems and data.
